Classic Function Meets Modern Detail

The client wanted a timeless space with personality—one that felt fresh without being trendy. We began by grounding the palette in soft neutrals and built upward with contrast, metallic accents, and bold patterned tile. Spatial efficiency was key: this is a compact bathroom, but through scale-aware decisions and vertical integration, it now feels taller, brighter, and more luxurious.

Mood Board

Portugal, one of the client’s favorite countries to visit, became an unspoken thread in the design’s mood and materiality—reflected in the terracotta roofs, sun-washed textures, and historic yet relaxed ambiance that shaped the inspiration. The visual direction for this project began with a mood board inspired by coastal textures, tailored neutrals, and refined silhouettes. A mix of seaside architecture, natural rope, brass detailing, and warm evening light informed the palette and material selections. The styling reflects a balance of coastal casual and urban polish—evoking calmness, functionality, and a sense of understated luxury.

RENDERING PREVIEW

The 3D rendering brought the concept to life with clear articulation of materials and spatial layout. The brass lighting and fixtures shine against the soft white tilework, while the bold cement floor anchors the space. Every element in the rendering speaks to the mood board's intention—natural, refined, and enduring.

Materials & Fixtures

Vanity & Cabinetry: The black-stained wood vanity with turned legs and brass hardware brings a sense of furniture-style craftsmanship. Its slim profile allows flow while offering ample storage. The marble countertop and backsplash were included with the vanity, offering a cohesive and convenient solution.
Wall Tile: ELM Surfaces supplied the honed ceramic wall tile. The handmade look of the tile adds organic variation and softness to the space.
Floor Tile: The geometric cement tile, also from ELM Surfaces, grounds the space with bold pattern and color. The green, navy, and mustard palette ties in with the metallic finishes while adding dimension.
Plumbing Fixtures: All plumbing fittings are from Delta, in a brushed brass finish. They unify the space and echo the lighting and cabinet hardware. Delta was chosen for its durability, refined detailing, and cohesive styling.
Lighting: The double-cone brass sconce is from Etsy and adds sculptural interest above the slim-profile mirror. Its warm tone brings cohesion to the brass fixtures.
Accessories: Towels are from Pottery Barn, rods and hooks from Rejuvenation with the soap dish and greenery vase sourced from Jayson home, adding a soft, tactile layer to the space.

The new layout maximized vertical storage and visual height. A wall-mounted towel rack doubles as shelving, keeping linens tidy and accessible. We recessed a shower niche to hold essentials without crowding the tub, and chose a tall mirror to elongate the visual plane. The tub/shower combo was refitted with a Kohler acrylic tub for longevity, paired with a handheld wand and rain showerhead for modern comfort.

This remodel honors classic sensibilities while embracing details that feel personal and current. By mixing tailored finishes with artisanal materials, and pairing utility with beauty, this bathroom now reflects a holistic vision of modern comfort.
