Welcomed

Whether you are visiting a home or living there, there is nothing better than feeling welcomed. AZL believes that setting the mood as soon as you enter a house, is an invitation to visit, explore, and perhaps stay awhile.

A home's welcoming feel, whether you are building one or renovating one, is the key to falling in love with the entire place and is the chance to set the mood for a fantastic experience, no matter if you are hosting or visiting!

Here are some tips for creating a welcoming atmosphere:

CLEAR THE CLUTTER

A foyer or entryway is a space often contained within small square footage. Make the space welcoming by keeping it simple and clean. Choose coffee table books or large trays to style a space with essentials such as a candle, a picture frame, or a large vase with fresh flowers when looking for home decor.

Do you ever associate a scent with a memory or place? I do, and it makes me nostalgic as well as happy. Make entering your home an experience unique by introducing a signature scent that visitors and family members can recognize. Some of our favorite scents come in a candle or incense format, the perfect personal touch to home decor

MOOD

Decorative lighting sets the mood from the start. There are many decorative lighting sources that provide different lighting intensities, such as floor lamps, table lamps, wall sconces, and chandeliers. Having multiple layers of fixtures alternating a glow can help you set the mood for a special occasion or simply getting home after a long day at work.

FUNCTIONAL

A space can be both functional and aesthetically pleasing; the challenge lies in choosing and placing all of the elements, including hooks, rugs, seating options, long lasting material, and lighting sources. All of the above is achieved while maintaining "the pretty" with graphic wallpaper and vintage benches sourced at a vintage furniture market.  Even though vintage area rugs are more expensive than others, they elevate the feel of a room and allow stain and dirt to be hidden much easier than a less expansive rug, such as a jute or synthetic rug.
